Soccatoos is a multi-award winning soccer activity and development program.  It's just for preschoolers.

Our programs are for boys and girls aged 3, 4 or 5.  The children don't need any previous soccer experience to join.

Soccatoos is decidedly different from other preschooler activities.  Our programs are deliberately non-elitist and non-competitive.  We focus on the children and build our activities around them having lots and lots of fun.  Our programs are very welcoming and inclusive and our experienced coaches are always warm and caring.
We teach the children in a very age appropriate manner and use unique child intuitive terms and concepts.  We place heavy emphasis on social skill development.  The programs are a lot more than simply teaching your child sound fundamental soccer skills.

Our coaches are great at keeping children entertained and engaged.  Some have more than 15 years dedicated preschool soccer program experience.

There are always two or more coaches running each class.  We intentionally keep class numbers low so that children don't wait too long for their turn.  In the soccer game at the end of each class, we make sure every child gets the opportunity to kick the ball. At Soccatoos....its soccer fun, just for preschoolers. for more information contact us

The Sydney Child Assessment & Testing Service is a specialist service providing IQ and academic testing for children in Sydney. Dr Taryn Bloom dedicated to providing a comfortable and supportive testing environment for children aged between 3 and 16 years. IQ and academic testing provides important information for making educational choices, and is often done so that children can be placed in the appropriate learning environments.

Testing is also a helpful way for parents to learn about their child's cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and preferred learning style. A report provides objective verification of a child's academic needs and details recommendations so that a child's learning environment can be adapted successfully to best fit their cognitive ability.

Specific reasons for testing include:

  • Giftedness
  • Learning difficulties
  • School readiness
  • Selective school admission
  • Early entry to Kindergarten
  • Boredom or behavioural problems presenting in the classroom/at home
  • Admission to special educational programs (e.g., enrichment, extension and acceleration programs)
Sessions are available on Weekdays, Saturdays and Dr Bloom does conduct regular Sunday Clinics for families travelling long distances (e.g., interstate/country NSW). For more information contact us

PARENT INFORMATION

Kids and Poisons

In New South Wales, every year thousands of children need medical care for poisoning from products commonly found in and around the home. Most accidental poisonings occur to children younger than five, with children aged one to three at greatest risk.

Why are children more likely to be poisoned?

Young children are exploring their world and will put anything in their mouths. They also like to imitate what others do, including taking medications.

What can be poisonous to your child?

Medicines, cleaning, laundry, gardening and car products, insecticides, perfumes, paint, plants, insects and many others.

How can you prevent a poisoning?
  • Store medicines and chemicals out of sight and reach of children, at least 1.5 metres off the ground and in a locked child resistant container.
  • Use medicines and chemicals safely. Follow given instructions and return them to safe storage immediately after use.
  • Buy products in child resistant containers and use child resistant locks on cupboards or cabinets that store poisons. You can buy these at many hardware stores.
  • Ensure all products are stored in original containers and are clearly labelled. Regularly dispose of unwanted and out of date medicines by taking them to your nearest pharmacy for safe disposal.
  • Don't call medicines 'lollies'.
  • Check that the plants in your garden are not poisonous

For more information on the prevention of poisoning, call Kids Health, The Children's Hospital at Westmead on (02) 9845 3585.
