FEATURED SERVICES

We Care, We Nurture, We Develop

Kids Kinder Childcare is dedicated to providing a safe, friendly environment that fosters your child's social and educational development.

Kids Kinder is a privately owned and operated childcare centre operating for long-day hours providing care and education programs for children 2-6 years old.

The centre operates 52 weeks a year Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm closing only on public holidays.

We have a team of dedicated childcare professionals who each day provide a fun and safe learning environment with daily routines similar to that of home for each child.

Kids Kinder is big enough to provide lots of toys, equipment and great facilities, yet small enough to provide an individual level of care for each child and their family. Our focus is the well-being of each child and their learning.

We believe that all children are unique. It is our hope to extend and compliment the home by providing a happy, stable and secure environment in which each child develops towards their full potential.

SPECIAL OFFER: enrol now for 2011 and receive one week free childcare. Offer valid to 30/11/2010

We currently have vacancies for all ages and look forward to welcoming you and your child to our lovely centre, please contact us

SPOT4KIDS Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy service specialising in the screening, assessment and intervention for 0-18 year olds with speech and language delays, learning difficulties, Autism and Autistic Spectrum Disorders, attention deficits and developmental delay.

We have 16 years experience working with children and their families to improve function and independence in everyday meaningful activities such as school activities (eg. reading, writing, spelling, speaking) play, sports and self care activities such as tying shoelaces and using cutlery.

Our practice is child-centred and we believe that all children's needs are unique and therapy goals are best achieved when we work collaboratively with the child, their families and teachers to fully understand and address these needs. As a result, we are able to develop specific home and school programs for children to compliment therapy and ensure acquired skills are transferred from therapy to the home and classroom.

We use a sensory integrative approach as well as more "traditional" occupational therapy models and cognitive strategies.

Our speech pathologists are trained in a wide range of proven techniques for the treatment of speech, language, literacy, social skills and stuttering difficulties.

Additionally all of our therapists are trained in a multi-sensory literacy program offering individual or group tutoring and we are registered with 'An Even Start', a government funded program assisting children who did not reach benchmarks during national literacy testing.

Our therapists are primarily mobile therapists, servicing clients in their school, day care or home environments however we have clinics at some of our locations. We are registered Medicare providers and are registered with private health funds so that our clients can take advantage of the rebates available to them.

The Sydney Irlen Dyslexia Centre For Reading and Perceptual Disorders
The word dyslexia is associated with a variety of reading and perceptual disorders.  Irlen Syndrome is a form of Perceptual Dyslexia. Symptoms include poor spelling, writing, inefficient reading, sore eyes, headaches, glare sensitivity and depth perception difficulties.

Irlen Syndrome is not an optical condition. For some, it can co-exist with non-related visual acuity conditions. For many, perceptual distortions are caused by the brain (not the eye) mis-processing light and glare.

Irlen's patented colour lens technology corrects the way the brain is mis-processing specific frequencies in the light spectrum. Irlen Lenses can therefore, provide immediate assistance. Where necessary, a prescription from your optometrist can also be included. The result is a miracle for some - an important part of the puzzle for others.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS? Light Sensitivity, Problems with Contrast, Problems with Print, Restricted Reading Span, Attention Deficitand/or Poor Depth Perception. For more information contact us

  • New child restraint laws - Frequently Asked Questions

    Choose the right child restraint

A child that is properly secured in an approved child restraint is less likely to be injured or killed in a car crash than one who is not.

Child restraints can be purchased from retail outlets or hired from some local councils, some maternity hospitals, community groups and from privately run rental companies.

Child restraints available in Australia must meet the Australian /New Zealand Standard 1754:2004 Child restraints for use in motor vehicles. The standard is one of the toughest child restraint standards in the world and child restraints manufactured to this Standard offer good protection in a crash.

A significant number of the restraints have been tested and assessed under the Child Restrain Evaluation Programme (CREP).

Find out more about the results of these tests and the guidelines you should follow when buying a child restraint in the safer child restraints brochure.

    Remember
    • Using a restraint correctly greatly increases a child's safety during a crash.
    • Placing a child in a restraint that is designed for a larger/older child increases the risk of serious injury in a crash.
    • Ensure the restraint is installed correctly. See a restraint fitter if in any doubt.
    • Always use the top tether strap where required.
    • Teach your child to always keep both arms within the harness system of the child seat or the seat belt of the booster seat.
    • When using a seat belt with a booster, ensure the seat belt is correctly fitted over the child's shoulder.
    • Move your child into a forward-facing restraint only when they no longer fit into a rearward-facing restraint.
    • Move your child into a booster seat only when they no longer fit into a forward-facing restraint.
    • Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
