Jellybeans Family Day Care Scheme provides childcare with a difference. We are not a childcare centre. Unlike a childcare centre we provide childcare from registered homes in small groups so your child recieves the care and attention they deserve. Jellybeans is privately run, family owned and operated.

Jellybeans provide quality care due to our low child to educators ratio we maintain a maximum of 5 pre-school age children to 1 Jellybeans educator. Your child maintains the same educator everyday which allows your child to bond with an educator they trust and are comfortable with. Your child's educator will get to know your child fully, understand their developmental needs, their likes and dislikes, even their favourite colour and foods.

All Jellybeans educators are trained in, or are obtaining, Certificate III in Children's Services. We are so confident of the quality of our care, we guarantee it. If you try Jellybeans for one week and you don't agree Jellybeans provide the best quality of professional childcare, and you don't want to continue care, we will refund your fees paid.

We currently have vacancies in Camden and Camden South so contact us Ph 1300 153 559 for inquiries.

TIP: Using a diary to reduce the stress levels in your home. You may have a child starting Big school in 2013 or an older child going into a new grade, into High school. You can help them prepare for the change and turn down the anxiety by using a diary/calendar/visual cue. Use visual cues as a diary to show them what is coming up. Discuss with your child what is going to happen, what do they need to do. Answer their questions, make a list of ideas to help them become organised and prepared. The diary is a place to record their plan for the new adventure. A plan for success. Call Learning Hats 0422 432 975 to prepare for 2013. Ready for school. Ready for learning.

Kids and Poisons

In New South Wales, every year thousands of children need medical care for poisoning from products commonly found in and around the home. Most accidental poisonings occur to children younger than five, with children aged one to three at greatest risk.

Why are children more likely to be poisoned?

Young children are exploring their world and will put anything in their mouths. They also like to imitate what others do, including taking medications.

What can be poisonous to your child?

Medicines, cleaning, laundry, gardening and car products, insecticides, perfumes, paint, plants, insects and many others.

How can you prevent a poisoning?

  • Store medicines and chemicals out of sight and reach of children, at least 1.5 metres off the ground and in a locked child resistant container.
  • Use medicines and chemicals safely. Follow given instructions and return them to safe storage immediately after use.
  • Buy products in child resistant containers and use child resistant locks on cupboards or cabinets that store poisons. You can buy these at many hardware stores.
  • Ensure all products are stored in original containers and are clearly labelled. Regularly dispose of unwanted and out of date medicines by taking them to your nearest pharmacy for safe disposal. Don't call medicines 'lollies'.
  • Check that the plants in your garden are not poisonous. Refer to Poisonous plants fact sheet.
For more information on the prevention of poisoning, call Kids Health, The Children's Hospital at Westmead on (02) 9845 3585.
